A WALK IN ISLINGTON, LONDON
My best friend recently moved to London, so naturally, a visit back to my favorite city was in order. When I studied abroad in London in 2019, I stayed in the Marylebone neighborhood. Islington isn’t too far, but I never ventured to that part of town. Needless to say, Islington is a vibrant, young neighborhood that offers a diverse range of restaurants, cafes, pubs, and boutiques. Off the main streets, you’ll find beautiful family flats and small squares. It’s fairly easy to get to due to it’s proximity to Kings Cross, one of London’s major stations.
Two of my favorite streets in the area are Camden Passage/Islington High Street and Exmouth Market/Spafield Street. Some highlights are:
Morito (Spanish/African tapas)
Doh’hut (delicious donuts)
The Breakfast Club (great breakfast/brunch spot. It’s a local chain).
Buns from Home (hand rolled buns, yum!)
The area has a lot to choose from - there’s also a Waterstones nearby for the book lovers, St. Pauls is a 15min walk, and there are a few tube stations that connect you with the rest of the city (Farringdon, Angel, Barbican, King’s Cross).
London is a joy of a plce! Cheers to your next trip.
