THE BOULDERS / SCOTTSDALE, AZ

If you’re looking to visit a relaxing resort in the desert that is close to a busting town (that some claim in the next LA), Scottsdale is your town to visit, and The Boulders is where you should stay. The landscaping will blow you away, and the individual rooms are simply gorgeous. Using lots of natural material inspired by the warm, muted surroundings, the rooms feel serene, simple, and a cool retreat from the heat.

There’s lots of activity on the grounds (which are huge, by the way) like golf and swimming. If you want a pool, I’d highly suggest the Spa pool, as it’s much quieter and more beautiful than the main pool. If you’re looking for unique restaurants in town, I highly recommend The Montauk for a casual but hip meal.

Other than that, bring a good book and soak in the sun; that’s why you should come here!
