MONTPARNASSE TOWER, LE LOUVRE

We started off today with an easy jog around the city in the early morning.  Although it was overcast, the temperature was around 60 degrees, perfect running weather in my opinion, and the streets were very quiet.

After considering many sites to see, we decided to try and make it to the top of Notre Dame Cathedral, but after waiting in line for 45 minutes, we realized had run out of time; we had to go to Montparnasse Station to pick up Lena, my friend from a French exchange in 2015.  We got to the station via the Metro, which is very easy to navigate and cheaper than taxis.

Once I was reunited with Lena, we went to the top of Montparnasse Tower, which is right next to the train station.  The tower is 209m tall and the observation deck is on the 56th floor.  Montparnasse has a panoramic view at the top, and a cheap ticket, followed by a quick elevator ride to the highest floor will get you a gorgeous view of Paris, which includes the Eiffel Tower!  For more information about Montparnasse, click here.

In the afternoon, it was time to take on Le Louvre.  This famous museum is one of my favorite spots in Paris, but obviously very busy all the time.  However, the lines move quickly and it only took us roughly 15 minutes to get in.  Also, students in the EU who are under 18 are free, so Lena didn’t need a ticket!  The museum itself is extremely beautiful and exceeds all expectations, so the long lines are worth it!  Here are some pictures from the visit:
